Why was this messaging toolkit website created?
AASCU designed this messaging toolkit in response to the negative discourse surrounding the value of a college degree and to articulate the value proposition of regional comprehensive institutions through impactful, consistent messaging aimed at key stakeholders including federal and state policy makers, journalists, and prospective AASCU students and their families.
The toolkit is currently available to presidents and chancellors, CCOs, and presidential assistants. We will re-evaluate usage of the site in the first six months to determine whether to make it available to other AASCU members.
What should I do if I don’t have sign-in privileges but want them?

How does the Presidential PVC Task Force Talking Points document differ from the messaging platform?
Both versions of the messaging platform are to guide AASCU and its institutions when communicating on behalf of AASCU at a broad level. The Presidential PVC Task Force Talking Points document is for reference when communicating to various audiences regarding, specifically, the work of the task force and AASCU institutions as it relates to creating a greater equity in postsecondary education and, in turn, a more just society.
What is the Presidential Postsecondary Value Commission Task Force?
Formed in 2019, the Postsecondary Value Commission, co-chaired by AASCU President Mildred Garcia, gathered a national panel of leaders from inside and outside higher education to explore the value of post-high school certificates and degrees. The Institute of Higher Education Policy served as the managing partner, and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation supported the work of the commission.
AASCU’s Presidential Postsecondary Value Commission Task Force is the association’s independent group aiming to realize the work, messages, and goals of the Postsecondary Value Commission, specifically through state college and university initiatives.
